The TERPEM propagation package provides a powerful tool for the forecasting and analysis of refraction, ducting and terrain effects on radio links and radar systems. It is the result of on-going algorithm and software development that began in 1989 with the release of PCPEM.
TERPEM is based on state-of-the-art hybrid models combining parabolic equation and ray-trace techniques. Version 5.2 is now available with further optional capabilities: a radar probability of detection module and a world-wide radiometeorological database (TERMET).
TERMET can also be used as a stand-alone tool.
TERPEM is available as a stand-alone package, or it can be integrated into larger software suites. For example TERPEM provides the propagation backbone for EEMS (Environmental Electromagnetic Modelling System), the UK Royal Navy operational replacement for IREPS.
